THE MOST ADVANCED DATA CENTER IN THE WARSAW AGGLOMERATION
Early 2021 the first clients will be able to use the infrastructure collocation services and cloud solutions from the NetiaNext line, provided in the Netia Group's most advanced data center, located only 10 km away from the center of Warsaw.
Netia is systematically strengthening its position on the market of sophisticated ICT solutions, the base of which constitute modern data centers (DC). After the acquisition of a large data center in Kraków at the turn of the year and the commercial success in southern Poland, the next step of the operator's expansion is a new investment in the very center of the country. As part of this project, Netia invests approximately PLN 79 million in a multifunctional facility, which includes over 1,000 m2 of server space (4 chambers allowing for the collocation of nearly 520 rack cabinets) and over 1,400 m2 of modern office spaces.
“The sale of collocation services in our new data center in Kraków has been well received by institutional clients. The interest exceeds our expectations. We also observe an unflagging demand for this type of services in the center of the country, so we have decided to invest in a new facility also in this region. We expect its full commercialization to take several years but the previous expansion of the DC in Warsaw at ul. Poleczki has shown that even in such a competitive market as Warsaw, clients appreciate solutions we provide,” said Aster Papazyan, B2B Market General Director, Member of Netia Management Board.
Safety and environment protection
The Data Center in Jawczyce will be one of the safest facilities in Poland, which will be confirmed by a certificate for critical infrastructure.
Its location could not be better: only 10 km from the center of Warsaw and easy access. At the same time, it is at a safe distance from any risk factors such as petrol stations, railway tracks, etc.
The Netia DC in Jawczyce is one of the most advanced facilities of this type in Poland thanks to innovative power supply. The system is identified by the user as full 2N but consists of as many as three power supply lines. One line is a classic UPS, and in the construction of the other two DRUPSes, i.e. dynamic rotary Uninterrupted Power Supplies, were used – this type of UPS uses the energy stored in the rotating mass.
An emphasis has been put on energy efficiency and adapting the maximum use of energy from renewable sources. Our environmental care can also be seen in the use of kinetic energy instead of batteries in the DRUPS, which means there is no need to dispose of harmful waste.
As early as August this year, the Netia Group is going to begin commercialization of the new facility to be commissioned early 2021. The strength of the new DC – apart from the possibility to provide the flagship NetiaNext line services of the top quality, especially the data center as a service (collocation services, dedicated servers) and cloud services (e.g. virtual data center based on VMware technology) – is also the high availability of office space, intended for spare offices or work places for IT specialists in the so-called hot desk system.
According to the data of the analytical company Audytel, Cyfrowy Polsat Group – including Netia – with approx. 8,000 m2 of collocation space in 2020, is the national leader in the DC market.
