VIRTUAL DATA CENTER FROM NETIA BASED ON VMWARE PLATFORM
Netia is expanding its cloud service (Netia Compute) with a new virtual data center management platform based on solutions of the leading global provider – VMware. This is another initiative taken this year – following the purchase of the data center facility in Kraków from RASP – which aims to increase the Netia Group's share in the outsourcing of IT infrastructure.
“Audytel's report on the Polish data center market shows that, considering the facilities of the Cyfrowy Polsat Group and Netia, our Group is the leader in terms of collocation space. In order to make it easier for the customers to build cloud solutions based on this vast infrastructure and comprehensive services, we have extended our offer with VMware tools,” said Adam Kowalczyk, Senior Product Manager at Netia.
In collocation facilities Netia provides a wide range of services – from space lease, through dedicated servers (in cooperation with Dell EMC), to cloud solutions and security services. The Super-Pharm online store operates within the Netia’s cloud, to name just one case (more information under this link).
The current expansion of the Netia Compute cloud service with VMware tools allows our clients to manage their virtual Data Center through vCloud Director, which is combined with VMware NSX network virtualization and software-defined storage – VMware vSAN.
The VMware platform will be systematically expanded with further PaaS and multicloud services.
The main focus when building the new platform was on the above-average performance and safety. For these reasons, the service hardware environment is a hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) built on a reference architecture from Dell EMC. The highly accessible platform is monitored around the clock and Netia's engineers can maintain client systems. The offer is complemented by Netia's wide range of telecommunications services, which play a key role in creating hybrid environments.
“Netia's VMware cloud primarily means ‘performance’, as highlighted by all customers who have already had the opportunity to test the new platform. I believe that quality assurance in technology selection and professional support of own engineers can be a competitive advantage of services provided in Polish data centers. We also make sure that the simple billing model we have adopted supports the expectations of IT managers looking for savings in this area,” said Adam Kowalczyk.
